Estrogen as it Relates to Fitness, Athletes, Bodybuilders and Physically Active Individuals

By Ori Hofmekler

Many studies have substantiated the beneficial effects of exercise in increasing the body's capacity to utilize energy, burn fat, build muscles, improve hormonal balance and resist stress. Nevertheless, due to overwhelming amounts of estrogenic chemicals in today's environment and food supply, physically active individuals often suffer from estrogen related adverse effects which severely compromise the positive effects of exercise.

Estrogen inhibitors, such as those in EstroX™, can help restore healthy estrogen levels and improve the ratio of androgens/estrogens in men.

High exposure to estrogenic chemicals such as pesticides or estrogenic foods such as soy products or meat from hormone injected animals, combined with a high intake of cheap commercial protein products (often processed with chemicals), may be some of the main contributors for the failure of many individuals to lose fat and sustain lean muscle, in spite of being physically active.

Overexposure to estrogenic chemicals can increase the number of estrogen receptors in estrogen sensitive adipose (fat) tissues, making them more prone to increase in size and resist fat burning. Estrogen related fat gain (stubborn fat) typically occurs in the belly and chest for men, with undesirable effects, such as softening of the chest (gynecomastia) and in extreme cases, feminization and sterility in the male body. Women typically gain estrogen related fat in the belly, hips, lower butt and upper thighs.

One reason for over-estrogenic activity in the body is the careless use of steroids (steroid drugs and steroid precursors). Though certain products in this category are quite popular in today's sport supplement industry, all drugs have side effects with sometimes a delayed estrogen "kick back" when on and off the drugs.

Coupled with The Anti-Estrogenic Diet, estrogen inhibitors, such as those in EstroX™, can help restore healthy estrogen levels and improve the ratio of androgens/estrogens in men. It is this ratio of androgens/estrogens that determines the body's capacity to get leaner and stronger. For women, balancing estrogen levels helps prevent estrogen related fat gain and lower the risk for other estrogen related disorders.

Certain compounds in EstroX™ can help shift estrogen metabolism to produce beneficial metabolites, while protecting the body against harmful metabolites and their related risk factors. By virtue of its triple action defense against excess estrogens, EstroX can help break fat weight plateaus while providing the metabolic environment for sustaining a lean and healthy body.

Note that EstroX™ is not a steroid inhibitor. EstroX™'s mechanisms of inhibition do not involve side effects often associated with the use of steroidal drugs. To be more proactive in the fight against estrogen's adverse effects, try the following:
