Often in life we tend to regret things that we have done in the past instead of focusing on what can be done in the present. I am sure that all of us would like to go back in time to change things that we have done. Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately that is not possible. What is possible is what you do now. The rocks that you throw in the lake of your life now can create ripples that will cause dramatic changes. The key is to throw the rocks in the lake often. There is no time like the present. Take the first small steps today and don’t look back.

Stay Calm In Order To Improve Workouts
When I was at the RKC certification in February 2002, top strength coach John Davies, author of “Renegade Training For Football” noticed that I tend to grimace and grunt when I exercise. He told me my technique while amusing, was a real waste of energy and that I need to learn how to stay calm when exercising no matter how intense it is. At first, I thought that he was crazy! How am I supposed to stay calm while do strenuous exercises? Regardless, I decided to work on the staying calm technique and to my surprise my workouts did become noticeably easier. The first thing that I noticed was that my concentration and focus went up. In addition, when I started training others, I saw clearly that grunting, grinding teeth, and making ugly faces were a real waste of energy. When I got people to stay calm they were amazed at the difference it made.
Here is why keeping your face calm works:
- You use less energy
- You are applying positive self-talk in which you are telling yourself that what you are doing is not that hard.
- Concentration increases
When you scream and grunt like a lot of jack asses do in the gym, you are not doing anything to improve your workouts. You are simply wasting energy and losing focus. Watch professional athletes such as MMA fighter Frank Shamrock or tennis great Serena Williams and you will notice that both of these exceptional athletes stay calm and serene during intense activities (At least when they are winning which is often). Work on having a calm yet intense state of mind when you train and I think that you will be amazed with the results.
