1. AGGRESSIVE STRENGTH QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Often in life we are sent what I like to call “chump tests.” This is a test that you do not want to pass because if you do, you are a chump. Here is an example, you decide that you want to start working out and get in better shape. However, your wife or girlfriend tells you that she does not want you to because she does not want you to get in shape and make her feel insecure. If you decide that this is acceptable and do what she tells you to do then you just passed the chump test with flying colors. Here is another one. Your boss at work tells you to do something that is contrary to your values and beliefs. What do you do? Do you do what you are told and ditch your beliefs or do you stand strong and refuse. If you want to fail the chump test then you hang tough with your values. Here is a final example. You decide to start a business, but when the going gets tough, you fold your cards and look for the path of least resistance. You have just realized what you are made of which in this case is not much. Again, you passed the chump test with flying colors. Pass enough chump tests and you reach the point of no return. You have sold your soul for good and are no longer an independent person with character.

2. AGGRESSIVE STRENGTH TRAINING ARTICLE

There Is No Magic Training Program

Many trainees are constantly looking for the best training program as if there is one program that will work best for them. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Most programs will work for about 4-6 weeks and then your body adapts and it is time to move on. If you do not move on, then you will at best maintain what you have. However, most likely you will probably get weaker. You do not have to make dramatic changes every four weeks, but some variables such as: intensity, volume, and frequency need to be manipulated. If you trained to failure for four weeks, then do four weeks of not training to failure. You could follow a four-week high intensity phase with four weeks of high volume training such as “German Volume Training (GVT).” The key is to get started rather than using delaying tactics such as telling yourself you will get started when you find the perfect program. There is no perfect program and the right program for you will often be contingent on what is going on in your life at the time. If you are going through a period of high stress and poor sleep, then that is not the time to hit training hard. If you have a lot of time on your hands and are getting a lot of sleep, then that is a great time to do some super intense training. Also, make sure to focus on one goal at a time. For example, if you want to get stronger, then follow a strength emphasis until you hit your goal. If you want to lose fat, then focus on a fat loss program until you hit your goal. Decide what goal is most important to you and focus on that.
