This week’s quote comes from newsletter reader Randolph Shadoe. While it is important to remember the lessons of the past, it is equally important not to dwell on mistakes in the past. In addition, dwelling on how things were better in the past is a sure-fire way to sacrifice the present and ruin the future. We have to know where we have been to know where we want to go. Yet, we have to live in the moment to enjoy the present and prepare for what is yet to come. Don’t put off for tomorrow what needs to be done today and take action on ideas in your head so that you sleep well each night. A restless mind is one full of procrastination and ambivalence. Decide what needs to be done, execute it, and move on to the next task.

2. AGGRESSIVE STRENGTH TRAINING ARTICLE

End Your Workout With A Finisher

A great way to add a muscular endurance component to your strength workouts and to enhance recovery is to end each training session with a “finisher.” A “finisher” is a compound exercise that is done for high repetitions in order to get some blood flow into the worked muscles. For example, doing one set of twenty on the clean and press or doing 25 –50 Hindu squats after a heavy leg workout. Here are some examples of some “finishers”:

Swings or snatches are particularly beneficial after heavy squat and deadlift workouts to loosen up the body and send some blood to the back and legs. The clean and press or x-vest pushups are great after heavy upper body workouts. Choose your weapons and get started today.
