We are getting close to the end of the year, which means the age-old tradition of new years resolutions is around the corner again. How did you do this year? Chances are good that most people went through 2004 without achieving their resolutions or goals for the year. I doubt that it is because they did not know what to do. It has more to do with the fact that it is easier to talk about something then it is to do it. The problem is that talking about it does not make it real. You have to actually take action and accomplish what you know you should do to make it real to yourself. You also have to understand the concept of sacrifice, as nothing is free in this world. If you want to get into great shape, then you have to cut other things out of your life such as junk food, four hours of television watching per day, and negative friends that tell you that training is a waste of time. The people that often fail at achieving their goals are the ones that do not understand the concept of sacrifice. This New Years don’t just ask yourself what you want for 2005, ask yourself what you are prepared to sacrifice.

2. AGGRESSIVE STRENGTH TRAINING ARTICLE
No Sex Drive Equals Over training
One indicator of over training that few trainees seem to be aware of is the sex drive. When you have no sex drive, your testosterone levels are low and when your testosterone levels are low your training progress will hit a brick wall. For men, if you do not have morning “wood” regularly then your sex drive is low and there is a pretty good chance that you are over training. If and when this occurs (most likely when for most people at some point) take three days off and do some active recovery* workouts for a week to get back into the groove(No pun intended). If you still do not feel your sex drive come back after a week or two of light training, then get checked out by a doctor to make sure that there are not any health problems involved. The body is always looking to keep things in balance and when you are stressed in one area, it will carry over to other areas of your life. Lack of sex drive could be coming from stress at work, personal life, or heavy training. It could be a combination of stress from all three areas. Regardless, your body is trying to tell you something and you will be wise to listen. Remember that training is supposed to enhance other areas of your life, not ruin other areas of your life.
Sample Active Recovery Workout
- 25 Hindu Pushups
- 50 Hindu Squats
Do the above exercises in antagonistic fashion. Do one set of Hindu Pushups, wait one minute, then do a set of Hindu Squats, wait another minute and then do another set of Hindu Pushups. Keep going back and forth until you have done five sets of each exercise. Pick a rep range that is taxing, but that does not wipe you out.
